Dr. Robert Kawasaki is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and fellowship trained in interventional pain procedures. Has been in practicing medicine in Colorado since 1995 specializing in spinal, musculoskeletal and neurological injuries. He is skilled in performing interventional spinal injection procedures, electrodiagnostic testing, and a variety of joint, soft tissue, spinal and pain relieving injections. He has expertise in treating Workers Compensation (Level II accredited), auto, personal and sports injury cases.
He is originally from Cupertino, CA in the San Francisco Bay area. He grew up watching fruit orchards transform into the Silicon Valley. He completed two bachelor’s degrees in Physiology and Physical Education at University of California Berkeley. He then went on to study at the University California Davis Medical School, graduating in 1991. After medical school, Dr. Kawasaki continued at UC Davis Medical Center where he completed the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency program while serving as a chief resident in 1995. He completed his fellowship in Interventional Pain through Rehabilitation Associates of Colorado with additional interventional pain training through Stanford University, North American Spine Society, and Spinal Intervention Society.
He was lured to Colorado for Rocky Mountain adventures on his mountain bike and skis. He served 12 years on the Copper Mountain Ski Patrol, and National Ski Patrol. He volunteered as team physician for several high school football teams during residency and spent many years as the team physician for The Peak Athletics Cheerleading, Gymnastics and Dance. He currently spends many hours as a rink side medical volunteer for Littleton Hockey Association.
